The art of origami is the basis of the way Robin approaches print production projects. Start with a paper selection and build upon it. By intertwining a mix of paper, ink and design a precise and imaginative product emerges.
Education and experience has enhanced her advertising and marketing skills. She earned a BA degree in Mass Communication at the University of South Florida and continued her education at the University of California, Los Angeles in Business Management graduate studies.
While in college, she participated in the AAF National Student Competition for the soft drink product Sprite. Her team won first place for Florida and they advanced to the national competition in San Francisco.
Young and full of energy she pursued her career in Los Angeles landing a job at J. Walter Thompson. She refers to JWT as basic training camp. To this day, she still relies on the skills she learned and mastered there. After Los Angeles, she moved to Houston to work on the Client side in the real estate industry and then to experience selling ad space for the daily newspaper. After six years in Houston, it was time to return to her native Florida and she chose Tampa where she experienced the corporate marketing world of Fotomat Corporation, the agency side at Landers & Partners and lastly at FKQ Advertising before embarking on her own.
She has won numerous ADDY awards, Paper Mill awards and is always involved with her community. She believes it is important to give back, stay involved and to help make a difference. Currently, she serves as President on the Board of Directors for Project Return. Her past leadership included the Board of Directors for Paint St. Pete Proud, The AIDS Institute, Florida AIDS Action, AIDS Memorial Park and Tampa AIDS Network. She has been a Judge for the BOLI Awards, the Best of Long Island Adverting Club Awards for the past eight years, speaks at the USF Ad Club and mentors many talented Mass Communication Advertising students.
When you visit Robin’s office you will be certain to find some origami paper. If you are in the mood to create, sit down and relax, take a sip of some Sprite when she offers it to you and begin folding. You can’t imagine where it may lead you.
